Key Fashion Brights to Consider!
Creating trend direction boards is one of my favorite things to spend time on as a designer. I approach it from many different angles and love to analyze the market! I often start by researching brands I know and appreciate to identify overarching trends that cross customer segments and markets. New brands entering the market are also great to follow because they bring their own unique splash to the market.
Being able to see all types of trends from a top-level view gives you the best opportunity to spot changes and advancements early on. You can position yourself as a trend maker if you're able to act quickly and iterate! The more dynamic your brand is when it comes to advancement in design and innovation, the better. Just remember to live, sleep, and create through your customer's eyes. PRO TIP: Color is only one segment of apparel trends that you should be following, but it's the purpose of this post. When researching trends, always consider all of the elements when researching trends: overall silhouette, details, trims, seasonality, construction, fabrication, and materials. For a while now, soft and pretty muted tones have pretty much ruled both intimates and swim. Emerging trends show that it's about to shift into a new gear with brands offering a shift to bright, electric colors. Considering my excitement about all the bright, fun colors I saw in the market, I decided to create visuals to go with these brilliant ideas!
Electric Lemonade
WHAT'S COMING NEXT: A/W 2021-22 might be far off in the distance, but get ready to see some zesty with pops of shocking yellow. Neon bright tones rock the runway between swimwear, intimates, and ready-to-wear. PAIR IT WITH: Electric lemonade pairs well with pastel hues or pops of bold brights. This color will make a statement, fun all alone or trimmed with an accent. MAKE IT 90S: Mix your bright lemon looks with other acid hues featured below for a Lisa Frank look that will set your inner 90s child on purple fire.
Radiant Orchid:
THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT: A/W 2021-22 brings brights like you can't believe. Radiant orchid glows brightly in lingerie, intimates, and on the runway. Featured on all types of looks from feminine, fun, and flirty to refined, elegant, and chic, this color has no limits.
BOLD OR BARELY THERE: A perfect blend between pink and purple, this color feels like a fun secret or a bold statement no matter how you wear it.
PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS: This color also partners well with the rest of the mates in this acid-based trend drop, so don't feel like you need to shy away from blends. Mix it, match it, trim it. Make it your own and have fun!
Turned Up Turquoise
WE'RE NOT SO BLUE ABOUT THIS: This blue won't leave you feelin' anything but fun and carefree. A solid choice for any and every skin tone, this color pops with joy. Another unlikely bright to be featured in A/W 2021-22, but certainly a happy one! MAKE YOUR OWN LOOK: Great on its own or perfectly paired with bolds and brights, this one makes for super easy mix-and-match styling. IT'S ANOTHER DIMENSION: Play with sheerness, opacity, dimension, and texture to give a look some extra visual interest.
